Analysis of Fatal and Injury Traffic Accidents in Istanbul Sar?yer District with Spatial Statistics Methods

Traffic accidents, which continue to increase from year in Turkey and the world, have become a huge problem that can result serious traumas, injuries, deaths, as well their material moral consequences. Many studies been carried out world reduce number of traffic but these not very effective reducing accidents. In this study, 3105 fatal or injured accidents between 2010–2017 Sar?yer district Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city terms population, were discussed. We analyzed statistical information on subject detail within framework geographic systems. It has tried determine sections where are concentrated region with based spatial methods. Thematic accident map was created according types. context, advantages disadvantages methods compared using Point Density, Kernel Getis Ord Gi*, Anselin Local Moran’s I (LISA) Spatial Autocorrelation. addition, order observe change thematic Density maps separately occurrence types beginning last year. From point view, changes occurred interpreted. The current study determined most some streets divided into regions plan. cases examined analyses method. it observed method gives better visual results than other analysis used evaluate more realistically. day week effect month investigated for first time. is proposed bring new approach prevention by hotspot, type, effect.
